HMS Sweet Charity
at Glastonbury 2008 What a party we all had! Special thanks to all
those involved who helped to make it one of the most memorable events I have been
involved in for some time. Loads of Super Rare tunes here! Join the good
ship Sweet Charity for a cruise of discovery through Simon's roots in South America.
Crossing continents, this mix is a musical journey through Calypso, Colombian
Cumbia, Cuban Son, Mambo, Samba and Afro Beat. The killer underground dancefloor
sounds of South America. (2 hour mix) |

Soul Nova
Soul Stompers-A-Go-Go! Northern and Southern Soul, Salacious Sista Funk and Dancefloor
Bangers. |

Brick Lane Festival 2006
I ended up playing the last set after Jerry Dammers of the Specials who rinsed
out some drum & bass and ragga in fine style. This is something different,
however, a mix of my favourite secret party tunes from Psych to Euro Jazz and
from Afro Beat to Deep Funk it's dark underground party beats that you won't hear
anywhere else. (2 hr mix) |

Rare
Funk & Jazz Beats. This is a set I recorded for the"Sunday
Hoe Down", my old weekly Sunday afternoon mash-up at the vibe bar (now
terminated). It's a mix of jazzy hammond funk, rare sister soul, downtempo funk
stompers and breaks. The mix goes from classic soul standards such as Marie "Queenie"
Lyons "See & Don't See" and the Sisters Love "Give me your
Love", to little known gems such as Lee Moses "Time & Place"
and The Rock's "Charlie Brother (we got to love one another) which are absolute
stone funk classics but you won't find them on any compilation. Bug out man! |

Rare
Groove & Disco Breaks Some funky dancefloor material here uptempo
all the way with rare Disco Not Disco, Space Funk and Dance bombs from the 70s.

Crash
& Burn Block Party Session Live at It's Obvious, Leeds 1994. This
set was recorded for "Its
Obvious" and contains a number of mash-ups mixed live on three decks
before mash-ups & bootlegs were popular. It's rare to hear a mix that goes
off with such a bang! As my DJ partner on this mix used to say "Let's tear
up the floorboards..." |
